Newport Day 8
A Rainy Day
Waking up to rain today, we thad a leisurely morning before heading out for the day.
Glassblowing
In an earlier post I mentioned we had made arrangement s for glassblowing. Well as time progressed, we made a decision to forego that due to the pandemic and the close proximity that the class would entail.
In lieu of a class we opted to go to a gallery and observe a professional. We found a great glassblowing studio, Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery, at Seal Rock. The owners, Bob & Vicki were awesome and it was fascinating to watch Bob create some pieces while he explained the process and answered our many questions.
We purchased some pendant shades that Bob had previously created for our lighting over the island in our kitchen at home. One of the pieces Bob crated while we were watching was a pendent shade, so we know how the shades we purchased were made.
Yachats
We drove to Yachats for dinner at Yachats Brewing which had been recommended to us by Liz’s son Collin. We had a nice dinner and Liz got to try out some of their kombucha.
