Texas Visit
October 2023 ~ Our Second Visit to Texas
Liz’s son Cory and his wife Annie live in San Antonio with their son Owen. We have visited there together (Liz has made tips on her own) a few years ago towing the Jayco. This trip we flew down for a visit.
It was great to see Cory and family, and we did some exploring while they were working.
We took a day and went downtown to the River Walk and explored La Villita. La Villita is an historic village from the early days of San Antonio. They were celebrating The Day of the Dead when we were there. It was pretty interesting to learn about this festival and what it all means. The last time we were here we saw the Alamo, but we did not get to visit it, so we took some time and toured the grounds. Today’s Photos HERE
Another outing was the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. This is a reserve where you drive around a loop seeing various animals that have been rescued and a home provided for. They also have an aviary where we walked around with a feeding stick. The birds in there pretty much were attacking us by the time we left. It was pretty hilarious. See photos HERE
We spent most of this trip visiting with Cary and family. We took Owen to his preschool while we were there and helped with Owen and some repairs on their Airbnb that we were staying in while visitin. We did an outing with the family to Hemisfair Park, the site of the 1968 World’s Fair, Hemisfair ’68. With the exception of air travel, it was an enjoyable time.
