San Francisco and Vicinity
Exploring the San Francisco Area
As we normally do, we planned a trip around the Northwest Tandem Rally. This year we chose the San Francisco area as our main destination. We have been to San Francisco on a few occasions, but never really saw much other than Fisherman’s Wharf and the waterfront area.
It was another pretty easy drive the rv park. We stayed at the North San Francisco/Petaluma KOA, which is by far the nicest RV Park we have experienced. Details HERE. The RV Park is about a 40 minute drive to downtown San Francisco, however it was a much better option than anything closer in.
Day 1 ~ No Agenda
Day 2 ~ Golden Gate Park
Day 2 ~ A Hike At Petaluma
Day 3 ~ Muir Woods National Monument
Day 4 ~ Sausalito
Day 5 ~ San Francisco By Bike
Day 6 ~ Downtown Petaluma & Travel Day
It was interesting and fun to see and experience things in this area that we have not done on previous visits. When planning a trip, it is always a guess as to how long to stay at a particular location. Sometimes it is clearly not enough time, and others it is too much time. This stop felt about right, here is more to see here, but also it will be nice to moving on to our next stop. We really enjoyed seeing things that were new to us in this area, and have a list of things to do it if and when we get back this way again.
