Idaho State Parks

Spring Is Here

To kick of spring, we took an Idaho trip, We had never been to McCall so we made plans to visit and meet up with Liz’s son Casey and his family at Ponderosa State Park. We also made plans to meet up with my daugher Amy and her family at Farragut State Park after McCall.

McCall, Id – Ponderosa State Park

Ponderosa State Park is pretty amazing. When we planned the trip we thought we may do some day trips to other area but once we discovered how large the park was we realized we would spen the entire time in the park. We did explore McCall a bit as well, but didn’t really find much in town that we found interesting. The park is on a peninsula that goes into payette Lake and has marshes to explore as well as some great viewpoints of the lake. The mosquitoes were rather intense on the hikes and even at the campground it would have been nice to have a mosquito shelter.

The rv park is well maintained as is the rest of the park. We did not have full hookups at our site but we were right across the street from the bathrooms nd showers which were bot =h very clean. We found that we could have had ful hookup and Casey and family could have tented in the4 same site.

We had a few days before Casey and family arrived so we did some hiking and biking in the park. there are so many trails that we kept pretty busy.  It was great to have some time with Casey, Ameila, and Elliott. Elliott really liked watching the excavators that were working close by.

Farragut State Park

Farragut is always a fun time. Again we did some biking and hiking and had fun with Amy, JT, and Jude. We have been to Farragut on multiple occasions. The hiking and biking there never disappoints, so many great views of Lake Pend Oreille. We did a bike ride with Amy and family on the Lynx trail and over to Bayview.
