Bellingham Getaway ~ August 2023
A Much Needed Break
We needed to get away after a difficult summer, so we booked an Airbnb near Larabee State Park just south of Bellingham, WA and took a few days to celebrate Liz’s birthday. Our travels this year have been interrupted by family issues and a problem with our Jayco travel trailer.
The Airbnb had a great view of Chuckanut Bay and some pretty great sunsets. It was directly across the road form an access to the Interurban Trail. When in the Bellingham area, the Interurban Trail is usually on our agenda, so we found the access to be an unexpected bonus. Photos HERE
We wpent our time just enjoying the area with no particular agenda. We did a hike to Fragrance Lake, starting at Larabee State Park which was just a few miles from the Airbnb. Photos HERE
We also spent some time biking and walking around Bellingham and visiting some of our favorite spots, did a little shopping, and experienced a couple of new things.
We discovered the Post Point Heron Colony and explored it. Not only did we see a lot of herons, but we also found a blackberry jungle. Photos HERE.
We also made a day trip to Linden. We have never been to Linden before and really enjoyed the excursion. Photos HERE
Bellingham and vicinity have always been one of our favorite destinations and it was really nice to get away after a rather chaotic summer!
